Ageism: The LGBTQ Elder Experience

Join Beit Gorski, the LGBT Program Specialist for the Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, for a panel discussion by Rainbow Elders called “Ageism: The Elder Experience and the Key to Resilience/Coping.” In addition to the special panel discussion by local older LGBTQ adults, Beit will also present a limited part of the “Project Visibility” training (focusing on inclusion for LGBTQ older adults, in general).

Beit Gorski is a somatic psychotherapist LPC Candidate who serves as the LGBT Program Specialist for the Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. Xe has been working in trans and genderqueer communities for the past decade, providing transition support and gender diversity training for educators and health professionals. As Program Specialist, xe develops and hosts social and educational programming for the “Rainbow Elders” of Boulder County along with managing Project Visibility, an inclusivity training for older adult service providers. In addition to xyr community work and consultation, xe teaches at Naropa University and enjoys volunteering as a counselor at a multi-gender emergency shelter for adults and children impacted by domestic violence.
